Thanks to Moser’s characteristic precise cut and distinctive colours, the vase gives the impression of a refined jewel inspired by natural crystalline forms. It takes but a slight rotation, a change in lighting or a simple refocusing of light, and the crystal vase offers a new view of the world. The vase was first designed in 2000 and requires approximately nine pairs of hands to create. Its author, Kateřina Doušová, built on Moser artworks from the 1970s, yet employed both traditional and modern techniques.

Mesmerizing gem of a crystal
All it takes is a slight shift, a change of light or just focusing on a different spot, and this cut crystal vase will offer you a new view of the world. Gema will brighten the interior with its modern cut, creating a play of reflections in distinctive colour combinations. Alexandrite, aquamarine and beryl underlaid with rose, blue, amethyst or reseda offer wide opportunities to play with colour.

Designer
Katerina Dousova
Katerina is a Czech designer specialising in product and interior design. She studied architecture and interior design at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design (UMPRUM) in Prague. Besides product design, she focuses on the renovations of historic interiors, for example the well-known Café Louvre in Prague. She has been collaborating with Moser since 1999. She managed to follow up on the successful Moser production from 1970, using traditional Moser glassmaking techniques.
