Moser at DESIGNBLOK

The beginning of October belongs to Designblok every year, and Moser can't miss it. From the 6th to 10th October, you will find our artifacts directly in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague.

We have been maintaining the engraving tradition without interruption for 164 years. This most brilliant and sophisticated decorative technique was developed by Ludwig Moser and his followers to an unprecedented level. The perfect execution of the engraving wants an experienced artist, as it requires remarkable talent, aesthetic feeling, strength, manual dexterity, and unusual care.

The desired motif is first drawn on fine paper and then transferred from it to a vase or glass block. The motifs are highlighted with chalk and a waterproof marker to make the engraving areas clearly visible. Only then does the engraving begin, in which the master engraver removes the crystal with the help of an abrasive emulsion and small wheels clamped in an engraving machine. The author devotes weeks to months to one engraving. But time does not play such a role here: the result and its perfection are important.

The engraving process in various stages of preparation will be presented on the Diva vase, which you can now decorate with an engraving of your choice in the MyMoser configurator.

We look forward to you!
